Diane Padoven announced as the new Volunteer Coordinator.
Diane joins the leadership team at Stray Hearts, where the volunteers are the heart and soul of the organization. The Volunteer Coordinator position is critical in continuing the shelter’s turnaround.
Padoven will be responsible for developing the position’s role and responsibilities, creating training programs for new and long-term volunteers, implementing communication channels and executing a focused recruiting plan to attract new volunteers.
Padoven, a former corporate senior executive with 20 years of experience in retail and fashion, most recently served as Senior Vice President, Retail Development & Operations, for the Levi’s® brand at Levi Strauss & Co. She moved to Taos, New Mexico with her husband from California three years ago and started a business consulting company working with numerous local and national clients and joined the board of directors for four local non-profit organizations.

The Volunteer Coordinator position allows me to utilize my business and philanthropic experiences to create/deliver a strong, focused, effective and fun program to train and develop our existing team and attract members of the Taos community to join us as we need many more volunteer to be able to accomplish all of our objectives,” said Padoven.
Diane began volunteering at Stray Hearts in late 2014 as a dog walker and completed the advanced training programs developed by our animal behaviorist, Delinda VanneBrightyn. She is now certified in the program and serves as an advocate for specific dogs. Diane's love of animals, combined with her extensive business background, make her the perfect candidate to serve as the Volunteer Coordinator.
