STRAY HEARTS BROUGHT 200 FREE SPAY NEUTERS TO TAOS COUNTY, MARCH 2024.
On March 22-24, 2024, STRAY HEARTS hosted MEGA SPAY NEUTER 2024, a 3-day high-impact spay/neuter clinic to be held at Taos High School Gym.
202 Taos County pets were spayed, neutered, vaccinated, treated and cleaned ~ all for free.
In partnership with Animal Balance, Stray Hearts brought this high volume M.A.S.H.-style (Mobile Animal Sterilization Hospital) spay neuter clinic to Taos.
THE BASIC DETAILS
Stray Hearts offered 200 free spay/neuters ~ ACTUALS 202.
Free vaccines and microchips were administered.
All dogs and cats were welcome.
This clinic was for Taos County residents.
This clinic was by appointment only, please.
All 200 appointments were filled, and 600 on the waiting list remained
Stray Hearts began scheduling appointments for MEGA SPAY NEUTER the week of February 26.
There were STANDBY list(s) for each day in cases of No Shows.
Pet drop offs were promptly at 8AM each day.
Donations were welcome, but optional.
Stray Hearts brought 15 “TurboBoost Volunteers” ~ members from the community who committed to volunteering over the course of the full 3 days (from 7AM to 6PM each day).
Volunteers: no medical experience was necessary; all volunteers were trained by Stray Hearts and Animal Balance.
